About the Composer(s)
Michael Giacchino is an Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Emmy-winning American composer whose iconic scores have shaped modern cinema, television, and video games. Giacchino is celebrated for his unique ability to combine grand orchestral scale with deep character-driven intimacy, making him one of the most sought-after composers of his generation.
A frequent collaborator of directors like J. J. Abrams, Brad Bird, and Matt Reeves, Giacchino has composed the memorable scores for Pixar's Up (for which he won the Oscar), The Incredibles, Ratatouille, the modern Star Trek trilogy, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Matt Reeves' The Batman. Crucially, Giacchino is also the musical voice of the MCU Spider-Man franchise, having scored Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home. For Jon Watts' Spider-Man: Far From Home, Giacchino crafts a rich, heroic, and emotional score. He utilizes complex orchestral motifs to capture Peter's grief, the European settings, and the heroic transition of Spider-Man taking the mantle of a global protector.

Did you know?
- AC/DC Iron Man Connection: The movie features AC/DC's 'Back In Black' during the private jet scene where Peter designs a new suit. The song is a direct, emotional callback to the opening scene of the original Iron Man (2008), though Peter humorously mistakes it for a Led Zeppelin song.
- European Pop Selection: Since the movie takes place on a European school trip, music supervisor Dave Jordan sourced unique regional songs to match the locations, including Italian pop classics like Caterina Valente's 'Bongo Cha Cha Cha' and Slovak pop hit 'Slnko' by Marcela Laiferová.
- Michael Giacchino's Mysterio Theme: Composer Michael Giacchino created a unique, slightly off-kilter, retro-futuristic theme for Jake Gyllenhaal's Quentin Beck / Mysterio, reflecting his theatrical nature and green smoke visuals.
- Whitney Houston's Memoriam: The film opens with a comedic, student-made tribute video set to Whitney Houston's 'I Will Always Love You', honoring the fallen Avengers (Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Vision) who died in Endgame.
- Classic 1960s Theme: Giacchino once again incorporates the classic 1960s Spider-Man cartoon theme song motif into the opening fanfare of the Marvel Studios logo, keeping the musical lineage alive.

About the Movie
In the immediate aftermath of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is grieving the loss of his beloved mentor, Tony Stark. Yearning for a return to normalcy, he decides to leave super-heroics behind for a few weeks to join his classmates, including his best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) and his crush MJ (Zendaya), on a school trip to Europe.
However, Peter's vacation plans are quickly hijacked when Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) recruits him to help stop a series of destructive elemental creatures causing chaos across the continent. Forced to team up with Quentin Beck / Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), a mysterious new hero claiming to be from an alternate dimension, Peter must confront new threats, overcome deep insecurities, and decide if he is ready to step out of Iron Man's shadow. Directed by Jon Watts, the film features an acclaimed orchestral score composed by Oscar winner Michael Giacchino, along with iconic rock and pop songs curated by music supervisor Dave Jordan.
