My Brilliant Career Soundtrack

My Brilliant Career is a six-part period drama television series adapted from Miles Franklin's classic 1901 Australian novel. Developed and co-written by showrunner Liz Doran and directed by Alyssa McClelland and Anne Renton, the Netflix series stars Philippa Northeast as Sybylla Melvyn, a fiercely independent young woman growing up in the Australian outback at the turn of the 20th century. Ambitioning to become a writer, Sybylla struggles against societal and family pressures to conform to domestic life and marry a wealthy suitor. The series features an all-star Australian cast, including Christopher Chung as Harry Beecham, Mrs. Bossier played by Anna Chancellor, and Genevieve O'Reilly as Helen.

The music for the series is a standout element, blending François Tétaz's atmospheric background score (co-composed with Molly Lewis) with a shockingly modern soundtrack supervised by Jemma Burns.
